City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels congratulated the winners on their efforts in the final.

"The quality of all entrants in the 2018 Act-Belong-Commit Breakthrough Music Competition was fantastic and I congratulate the winners on their outstanding performances," Mayor Sammels said.

"Breakthrough continues to go from strength-to-strength each year and opens up some amazing opportunities for all the young performers that take part."

Heats for the competition began in early September, with live performances taking place at Secret Harbour Square, Warnbro Centre and Rockingham Centre ahead of the final.

This year the final was held alongside the Up-Cycle Art Project Exhibition at the Rockingham Arts Centre.

Mayor Sammels also thanked Act-Belong-Commit Mentally Healthy WA, Healthway, Warnbro Centre, Stockland Baldivis, Rockingham Centre, Secret Harbour Square (Charter Hall) and Take Eight Productions for their support of this year’s competition.
