Jayson Mann, a 21-year-old Rockingham local, was in fine form during the carnival and dominated as his WA side defeated the Northern Territory 5.3 (33) to 3.1 (19) in Launceston, Tasmania. City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the City was delighted to be able to support Jayson in chasing his sporting dreams. “Through the Community Grants Program, the City aims to provide assistance to talented individuals like Jayson through the Travel Subsidy Grant process,” Mayor Sammels said. “For Jayson, a local resident, playing a dominant role in the winning Western Australian side really is a testament to his abilities, and a credit to his football commitment throughout the year.” The grand final Jayson played in was a curtain raiser for the Hawthorn versus Gold Coast Suns game on Saturday 23 June. Travel Subsidy Grants are available to people who live in the City of Rockingham and have been selected to represent their chosen activity at a local, national or international level at an accredited event held outside of WA or Australia.
