Tips for Using Your Recycling Bin

To ensure maximum recyclability of materials, residents are asked to observe the following recycling tips:
Recyclables need to be empty or clean (with a splash of water where required). Remove lids from all bottles and containers. Flatten cardboard boxes. Place recyclables loosely into the recycling bin, not in bags.Only clean packaging materials can be placed loosely into the recycling bin. Dirty or bagged recyclables will be landfilled. Items like clothing, toys, crockery or pots and pans cause issues, so cannot be placed in the yellow-lidded recycling bin.
