13th May 2019

The annual Free Microchipping and Vaccination Day for Cats and Dogs will be held on Thursday 30th May 2019.

Council, in conjunction with the Tamworth Regional Council Pound, Tamworth Regional Youth Centre, RSPCA NSW and TNE – Tafe Animal Care Section, is calling for pet owners to use this opportunity for the protection and wellbeing of their four-legged friends.

“It is the responsibility of a pet owner to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of their animals but we understand that some owners simply can’t afford this level of care, said Manager of Regulatory Services at Tamworth Regional Council, Ross Briggs.

“Council annually hosts the free microchipping and vaccinations day to provide pet owners the opportunity to protect their pets, so we hope to see many Tamworth residents and their furry friends there on the day.”

Microchipping is free for all residents, while those seeking vaccinations for their cat or dog will be required to produce proof of welfare status or a pension card.

All companion pets eligible for treatment on the day must be owned by a Tamworth resident and be over 12 weeks of age.
