Ballarat City Council has noted its progress against the Council Plan for the third quarter of the 2018-19 financial year.
The 2017-2021 Council Plan is a strategic document outlining what the City of Ballarat will do to achieve it and the community’s vision of Ballarat as a proud, bold, vibrant and thriving city.
It drives everything the City of Ballarat does over the four-year period, as well as determining the projects, services, events and other initiatives that will be funded and delivered in the next financial year.
To date, the City of Ballarat has completed 31 projects from the 2017-2021 Council Plan, and remains on track to deliver its commitments from this plan to the Ballarat community.

The Civic Hall Hub redevelopment (stage one), with an official opening in March followed by a successful transition to in-house operations and management – can we add some stats around how we are going with bookings (get from DH). The Ballarat Urban Forest Action Plan was adopted, which sets targets of increasing canopy coverage from the existing 17 per cent to 40 per cent by 2040; achieving an increase in two hectares of green space in the CBD; and developing tree precinct plans for priority areas of social vulnerability Designs for Council’s 2018/19 cycling route investment have been finalised, focusing on the Warrenheip Gully Trail and key linkages from the east of the city onto the Canadian Creek Trail as part of the Ballarat Cycling Action PlanCity of Ballarat Mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh said many of the targets of the 2017-2021 Council Plan were being ticked off each quarter.
“We as a Council have set a whole range of goals across the areas of liveability, prosperity, sustainability and accountability to improve the entire city of Ballarat,” Cr McIntosh.
“As we cross off these goals, we are building a bolder Ballarat that will be an even better place to live, work and play.”
