Liverpool City Council is seeking feedback on its proposed Liverpool Civic Place development, bringing its biggest-ever investment a step closer to reality.

“Liverpool Civic Place will anchor and activate the southern end of the Liverpool City Centre through a mix of uses, providing new public spaces, community facilities and job opportunities for our growing city,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.

“Initial community consultation took place in 2017 and we are now seeking feedback on the revised development proposal, which was endorsed by Councillors late last year.”

Council will commit around $195 million to its components of the proposed development, which include:

New Council offices and Chambers;A new central Liverpool City Library and community hub;A child care centre;University of Wollongong South Western Sydney campus space;A new Civic Plaza; andCouncil and public parking.

Other components of Liverpool Civic Place, to be paid for by the project’s developer Built Holdings Pty Ltd, will include:

Commercial office space;Retail space;A hotel (approximately 126 rooms); andHotel parking.

“Liverpool Civic Place is Council's biggest-ever investment - in our future and our future community,” Mayor Waller said.

“Liverpool Civic Place is one of several major developments in the pipeline, worth close to $1 billion, which are helping to transform Liverpool into Sydney’s third CBD.

“We rezoned 25 hectares in the heart of Liverpool City Centre last year to allow mixed-use development and that change is bearing fruit.”
