Baldivis South Community Centre Officially Opens

Located on the corner of Borough Road and Lamorak Way in Baldivis, the Baldivis South Community Centre is a multipurpose venue designed to host a number of user groups. 

Construction on the $3.5 million facility began in June 2018 and was completed in March 2019, approximately four months ahead of schedule. The building has a number of spaces available for hire including a multipurpose hall, two activity rooms, a counselling room, kitchen facilities, accessible toilets and a parenting room.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the Baldivis South Community Centre would provide the growing local community with much-needed spaces for hire.

“Baldivis is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Western Australia and the demand for community infrastructure is incredibly high,” Mayor Sammels said.

“This brand new 650 square metre facility will give City of Rockingham residents the chance to connect with each other in a family-friendly environment. In addition to being a rentable space, the centre also has supporting amenities that include car parking, landscaped areas and a children’s playspace.

“It will also play a vital role in reducing the pressure for community spaces that is currently being experienced at the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre.” 

Bookings for spaces at the facility are now available and can be made through the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre.

“The City would also like to gratefully acknowledge the support from Lotterywest, which provided funding support for the Baldivis South Community Centre project with a $900,000 grant,” Mayor Sammels said.

“The City also appreciates the diligent efforts of project architects Holton Connor and builder ADCO Constructions for delivering a vibrant community facility that will benefit the local community.”
