It’s all about the kids at Blacktown City Festival

Blacktown City Festival has proven to be hit with kids events already sold out.

Blacktown City Mayor Stephen Bali MP said it was not a surprise to see activities chosen with children in mind were fully booked within a matter of days of announcement.

“The excitement is building up for the worldwide YouTube phenomenon Baby Shark on Thursday 23 May,” Mayor Bali said.

“The free screening of the new movie ‘Pokémon Detective Pikachu’ on Wednesday 22 May at Hoyts Blacktown also proved to be a popular family activity.”

But the list of free events goes on, with numerous activities still available, including an inflatable maze on Blacktown’s Village Green on Thursday 23 May from 12 pm – 9 pm and on Saturday 25 May from 9 am – 4 pm. The maze will replace the kids mini golf ‘It’s Tee time’ which was originally on offer.

“It’s the first time we have featured the maze during the Blacktown City Festival and it will definitely be a hit among the children as they embark on an adventure which will keep them occupied for hours,” Mayor Bali said.

“Get together with your family and friends for a race through the maze and be sure to check all the activities on offer during the festival.”

Both The Medieval Fayre and Streets Alive and Parade Day include a number of activities which will keep kids entertained.

At the Medieval Fayre, children can immerse themselves in medieval culture with free camel and pony rides, Birds of Prey Show, arts and crafts workshops, circus works activity tent, inflatable castles, archery games and a working Blacksmith’s Hut.

Streets Alive and Parade day features 6 performance and activities areas, art and craft stalls, free amusement rides, animal displays, dog shows, wildlife displays and roving entertainment.
