Bestselling author Victoria Purman will be visiting the Dalby Library this May to discuss her new book, The Land Girls.
Following the release of her latest book, award nominee Victoria Purman will be coming to the Dalby Library for an evening of canapes and conversation.
Victoria is the bestselling author of the well-known book The Last of the Bonegilla Girls. She is also a regular guest at writers’ festivals, a mentor and workshop presenter and now she’ll be making her way to the Western Downs to discuss her new book, The Land Girls.
This moving story tells a tale of love, loss and survival based in Melbourne in 1942 during the war when Australia was fighting for its future.
Victoria will also be speaking about her life, career and successes. She is a bestselling author, with her work being nominated for multiple readers’ choice awards and was selected to judge the fiction category for the 2018 Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature.
Western Downs Regional Council spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire is excited that we can welcome such renowned Australiana authors to share their stories with our communities throughout the region.
“It is great that our libraries host events such as these where the community can really engage and get to know successful, creative and hard-working people on a personal level,” she said.
“Victoria creates fantastic works of fiction and I am sure this will be a fun night full of great stories.”
This event will be taking place at the Dalby Library on Thursday 23 May at 6pm with food and drinks available.
