Santa Teresa prepares to celebrate their community pride after being named the tidiest town in Australia.
Pride and engagement across the entire community was central to Santa Teresa’s success when named the 2019 winner of the Australian Sustainable Communities Tidy Town Award. That same community pride will be on show and celebrated next Wednesday when Santa Teresa gets together to honour their national success.
The iconic trophy has been shown off to councillors of the MacDonnell Regional Council at their recent meeting and will now be presented back to the community. Key among its stakeholders at the celebration will be Atyenhenge Atherre Aboriginal Corporation, the Ltyentye Apurte Catholic Church and its Education Centre as well as the MacDonnell Regional Council.
