The Central Highlands Regional Council has resolved to extend the due date and discount period for the current round of water notices.

Ratepayers will now have an extra 30 days to pay, with the due date moved to 25 June 2019.

Mayor Cr Kerry Hayes said the decision stemmed from a glitch with the notice issuing system.

‘Due to this technical error, a number of properties were missed when the water levy was issued last year,’ he explained.

‘That means some ratepayers have received two notices this time around. To ensure everyone has the best opportunity to pay their bill on time, council decided to extend the current due date and discount period.’
