Colac Otway awaits Minister’s final decision on ward recommendation

Colac Otway Shire Council has accepted the VEC’s electoral representation review final report and will now wait for the Minister’s final decision on the recommendation to introduce three wards.

“Council is surprised by the recommendation that Colac Otway should have three wards given that Option A presented in the VEC’s preliminary report supported Colac Otway remaining an unsubdivided electorate,” Council Chief Executive Peter Brown said.

“We accept the VEC’s final report but are yet to understand any potential organisational impact to accommodate three wards if the Minister decides to introduce the proposed ward system.”
