"The City of Ballarat is in the final stages of a tender process for the provision of its delivered meals program, or meals on wheels, for the coming financial year.

This standard procurement process is related to end of contract. The City of Ballarat has received a high level of interest and is now undergoing a robust process to evaluate and select a preferred supplier. The contract is for an initial period of one year. The City of Ballarat is currently sourcing meals from a range of providers.

The City of Ballarat supplies around 80,000 main meals, 40,000 desserts, 15,000 sandwiches and 14,000 soups to 400 meals recipients across the municipality each year.  

The City of Ballarat provides a comprehensive and integrated range of support services for frail, older residents and their carers to assist them to live safely and as independently as possible in their own homes."
