Cessnock City Council is asking the community to share their ideas about improvements to the existing Cessnock Pool, at a Community Information and Feedback Session, next month.
At the session, the community will be encouraged and asked to share their ideas about upgrades to the current facility. Works may include upgrading the leisure pool, heating or other amenities enjoyed by pool users. These ideas will be incorporated into a masterplan for the pool and plans for a splash pad.
Residents can also contribute their ideas and feedback by taking a short online survey. The survey will be available on Council’s website from Thursday 30 May until Sunday 16 June.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said this is a great opportunity for the community to be involved in improving the current facility.
“We want to involve the community to help us identify what improvements should be made to the existing pool. We’re also looking forward to hearing ideas on the design of the splash pad.”
Council will also engage with users groups of the pool, including swim clubs. Residents are encouraged to attend the Community Information and Feedback Session on Tuesday 4 June, at 7pm which will be held at the Club Room at the Cessnock Pool. For more information or to RSVP email [email protected].
The construction of the splash pad will be partly funded by a grant received under the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities fund.
