Yarra Ranges Council’s 2020 Grants for Community program funding round open for applications on 1 June.
The grants program supports community-based projects that build the social and cultural life of the region.
Community groups and artists can apply for up to $10,000 to deliver projects across Community Development, Festivals and Events or Arts and Heritage throughout the 2020 calendar year.
Yarra Ranges Mayor, Tony Stevenson, encouraged community groups of all kinds to check the criteria and apply if they have a project ready to go.
“The Grants for Community program is a platform for local groups, not-for-profit organisations and individuals to lead projects that identify and respond to the aspirations of the community,” Cr Stevenson said.
“We get a fantastic variety of applications each year, for festivals, events and community-based programs, and I’m proud that we’re able to support many of these with a total $425,000 in funding in 2019.”
“It’s always an extremely competitive program, and we sadly can’t fund every one of the great projects that comes past us, but if you’ve got an idea for making your community a better place, we want to hear about it.”
