Liverpool City Council is working with local vets to offer half-price desexing for cats and dogs belonging to Liverpool residents.

Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said the program was Council’s way of supporting Liverpool residents to be responsible pet owners.

“Desexing pets can be quite expensive and unwanted litters can prove a burden on pet owners and the environment,” Mayor Waller said.

“Desexing your pets can also result in a calmer, happier pet.

“We are pleased to be able to support residents to look after their pets and our local environment.”

Residents who want to take advantage of the offer can apply online at www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au/animal-desexing or contact Council on 1300 36 2170.

“Council is working with Gill Avenue Vet Hospital, Liverpool Vet Hospital, Elizabeth Drive Animal Hospital and Moorebank Vet Hospital to provide this discount,” Mayor Waller said.

After applying, eligible residents will be sent a voucher and booking instructions. They will then have to book in with a participating vet.

The discount applies for Liverpool residents throughout the month of June. Places are limited.
