Don’t miss your chance to attend Council’s free Celebrate Maroondah music event with Jazz in the Square at Croydon Town Square on this weekend, Saturday 1 June.
The event program features a range of fun entertainment and activities between 3pm and 5pm, including a free sausage sizzle, face painting, bubble artist and giant games – all while soaking up the jazz and blues atmosphere with live performances by jazz musicians, Total Fire Band.
Maroondah Mayor, Councillor Rob Steane, said the Celebrate Maroondah events were always popular with the community, with the last two events hosted in February and March proving hugely successful and well attended.
“Due to unpredictable weather, our last Celebrate Maroondah event scheduled for March was postponed. Fortunately, we are thrilled to have Total Fire Band back to perform in Jazz in the Square at our new Croydon Town Square,” Cr Steane said.
“Our Celebrate Maroondah community events, which included Jazz in the Park at Ringwood Lake Park and a Family Fun Day Out at Glen Park earlier this year, are a great excuse to get together with family and friends and enjoy a fun, no-cost day or evening out,” he said.
During the event, residents will also have the opportunity to meet their local Wyreena Ward councillors: Mayor Rob Steane, Cr Tasa Damante and Cr Marijke Graham – and find out more about what’s happening in the local area.
“Each community event is a little different, plus it’s always nice for my fellow Councillors and I to chat to residents in a relaxed atmosphere,” Cr Steane said.
Jazz in the Square will take place at Croydon Town Square, 97 Main Street, Croydon. Parking is available along Main Street or in Pierson Drive, Croydon.
Croydon Town Square is a smoke-free area.
