Council has launched an ambitious public art project drawing on the creativity of young people – and it’s all to do with ‘Tiny Doors’.
The ‘Tiny Doors’ project will feature a series of unique miniature art pieces – styled in the form of tiny doorways and portals - placed in public spaces across the Northern Beaches.
Inspired by ‘doorways’ in literature (think ‘The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe’ or ‘The Lord Of The Rings’), the artworks will be designed and executed by young people – but under the guidance of career professionals, including experienced art practitioners.
Council is looking for a number of professional artists to help launch the creative careers of the young people being recruited, aged 12-to-24 years, to participate.
Aspiring young artists will work in pairs or small groups to create and promote the ‘Tiny Doors’ under the guidance of the professional artists.
The ‘Tiny Doors’ project is an exciting public art project both for budding young artists and for professional artists with a commitment to fostering the ingenuity and creativity of young people and to developing community art.
