The first Outback Queensland Masters tees off in under two weeks in an epic event across western Queensland culminating in Mount Isa's $1 million dollar hole-in-one. The tournament, organised by Golf Australia and Tourism and Events Queensland spans 1400km in six locations - Roma, Charleville, Longreach, Winton, Boulia and onto Mount Isa. The event is for the amateur golfer social player or a first-time swinger, encouraging visitors and locals alike to grab their clubs. Golf Australia's Queensland Manager Luke Bates said the initiative encouraged visitors to spread the economic benefit across the west while experience unique locations, golf courses and outback Queensland hospitality. "We're encouraging visitors to adventure Outback during an incredible array of experiences and events, including Midnight Oil live at the Big Red Bash in Birdsville, cinema under the stars at Winton's Vision Splendid festival and Boulia Camel Races," Mr Bates said. The Outback Queensland Masters is a progressive golf tournament and to participate in the million dollar hole-in-one in Mount Isa, competitors will need to play at least two other courses first. Mr Bates said it was not for the pros "You don't have to Tiger Woods to tackle this tournament. The Outback Queensland Masters is a competition for the amateur golfer as well as first timers and social golfers," he said. "We'll also be encouraging juniors to participate, with special clinics with a golf pro at each location." Player passes are available covering all green fees, 18 holes at each location (9 holes per day), breakfast, lunch and an evening dinner under the stars . Spectators can join in on the country hospitality and live entertainment at each location with a Spectator Pass.
