Look for yellow Tuesday 04 June

New yellow recycling bin lids are being installed on residents’ wheelie bins in Bairnsdale, Bruthen, Cann River, Ensay, Mallacoota, Marlo, Metung, Mossiface, Newmerella, Nowa Nowa, Orbost, Omeo, Paynesville, Raymond Island, Sarsfield and Swifts Creek over the next five weeks.

East Gippsland Shire Council’s contractor, Tambo Waste is carrying out the changeover to bring the shire in line with Australian colour standards for waste, where yellow is the universal colour for recycling.

Wheelie bins with yellow lids will also be supplied to new houses, and when damaged bins are replaced across the shire.

It’s important everyone plays their role and becomes familiar with the change as recycling supports local jobs and keeps valuable items out of landfill.
