The community is invited to take the next step in forming a Barossa Suicide Prevention Network.
Action planning sessions have been scheduled on Thursday 20 June to identify local issues and demographics, as well as the values, vision and mission of the network.
How the group is formed and an action plan for prospective activities will also be discussed.
The Barossa Council Mayor Bim Lange said it’s not too late for people to come on board.
“This is the Barossa community’s opportunity to have a say in how the Network is developed, making it the Barossa’s own,” he said.
“We know this is close to people’s hearts and that was evident by the huge turnout at the introductory forum in May.
“Extensive community input is vital at this next stage to ensure the network is community-led and responds directly to local issues.”
To accommodate as many people as possible, participants can attend a day session (3-4.30pm with afternoon tea) or an evening session (6.30-8pm with a light evening meal).
The sessions will be facilitated by SA Health-Office of the Chief Psychiatrist at The Barossa Council chambers in Nuriootpa.
