Two ‘Community Open Days’ are being held on Friday 21 June from 4pm to 6pm and Saturday 22 June from 10am to 12pm. These have been organised by Council, in conjunction with the Memorial Hall Management Committee.
With the ‘Soldier’s Window’ now back in its original place, and other refurbishment works funded by the NSW Government’s Heritage Activation Fund nearing completion, it’s time to take a sneak peek at what is coming next.
With thanks to a $335,151 grant from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund and a further $3.3 million grant from Create NSW’s Regional Culture Fund, planning is well underway to transform the Memorial Hall into a vibrant arts and cultural Hub.
The Hon. Don HARWIN – Special Minister of State, Minister for the Public Service and Employee Relations, Aboriginal Affairs & the Arts, and the Hon. Melinda PAVEY MP – Minister for Water, Property & Housing have both been invited to attend the formal celebrations that will take place on Saturday 22 June at 10am to officially open the refurbished upstairs area.
Significant stakeholder engagement and needs analysis has taken place over the last six months to help determine what the full redevelopment – including a new extension at the rear of the Hall – might look like.
Initial concept plans have been developed and will be available for viewing at the Community Open Days. Tours through the newly renovated upstairs area will also be running.
