Bowen pool closes for upgrades

Whitsunday Regional Council is full steam ahead on regional infrastructure improvements with the Bowen Town Pool set for a $440,000 upgrade.
Council last month awarded Splash Pool Constructions the contract for the extensive aquatic works.
The Bowen Town Pool will be closed to the public from Monday June 17 and reopen in time for the September school holidays on Monday, September 16.
The Bowen Town Pool upgrades include: • Replace two pool pumps • Replace four pool filters • Remove and replace damaged tiles at both end walls of pool • Install new control units and replace pipework and flow meters • Replacement of all expansion joints in pool shell • Remove and replace swim lane anchors
