After considering a number of options at Beaumaris Reserve, plans to consolidate the Beaumaris Arts Group and Beaumaris Reserve Sports Pavilion into one building (Beaumaris Arts and Sports Pavilion) have been shelved. Instead, Council has committed to deliver two separate buildings for these important community groups.

Council has sought submissions from suitably experienced architectural firms to design the two buildings as a single package to ensure complementary design elements. Both existing buildings will be demolished and replaced with fit for purpose buildings that will meet the needs of the tenant groups well into the future.  The plans will not impact on the adjacent Cenotaph and early investigations indicate that there will be minimal impact on native vegetation.

Accessible car parking and paths will connect all buildings within the precinct and will incorporate access to an accessible shower and toilet for the Beaumaris Community Centre Tennis Club, better serving casual users of the tennis facilities.

The combined project scope is expected to be accommodated within Council’s current $6 million capital works program allocation.
