Winner of the 2018 Sculpture in the Garden Michael Purdy with his work, Steel City.
Artists and sculptors are encouraged to get their submissions in for the Wollongong Acquisitive Sculpture Award 2020.
Submissions for a sculpture concept that inspires conversation and sparks imagination are due by 5pm on Tuesday 11 June 2019.
Artists selected to participate will receive a $1,000 subsidy to go towards the development of their artwork, and their work will be exhibited in the Wollongong Botanic Garden during autumn 2020.
In addition the winning artist will receive $30,000 and have their work remain on permanent display in the Garden. There is also a People’s Choice Prize of $3,000.
Note to Sculptors: Works need to be in material that can survive the outdoor garden context, is durable, and may be touched by visitors to the Garden.
