Stanley Street nearing completion

Construction of new kerb and channelling along Stanley Street, Orbost, has been completed. The work includes 500 metres of new kerbing along Stanley Street between Nicholson and Livingstone streets.

Council’s Acting Director Operations Fiona Weigall said Council is using local contractor Orbost Civil & Civic to complete the $282,182 project.

“The new kerb and channel will improve drainage along sections of Stanley Street and improve access to the abutting properties, as well as preventing water intrusion into the existing road pavement,” Ms Weigall said.

Other recently completed works in the area have included kerb and drainage in Ruskin Street and Forest Road in Orbost and Willis Avenue in Marlo.

Council received $257,426 from the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery program for this project.
