Moree Plains Shire Council regularly uses of the services of a wide range of Trade Services contractors to assist in carrying out works where Council does not have either the in-house capacity or the skills required.
To ensure that best value for Council is achieved regarding quality of work and relevant timelines, contractors from both within the Moree Plains Shire and in our region are being invited to register for information about how to apply to be part of the new Prequalified panel. The contractor panel will run from 1 September 2019 until 1 September 2022. Additional contractors may join during the period of the panel's operation and contractors may also choose not to participate before the end of the contract, should they wish.
The panel will operate for some Council departments on a rotational basis for each trade area for smaller/emergency jobs. Other departments may seek quotations as required with no rotation of services. Individual quotations will be sought for more complex projects or with a significantly higher dollar value for them.
The key trades being sought by Council include a wide range of building trades and also service to equipment and plant associated with buildings. Other areas include trades associated with outdoor maintenance of buildings and grounds. Full details of the trades sought can be found on https://www.vendorpanel.com.au/Marketplace.aspx?emcc=1CF13F591A43 under Building Trade, Repairs and Maintenance or by emailing a request to This email address is being protected from spambots. Expressions of interest in joining the panel need to be lodged through the Vendor Panel system which is an online platform that Council uses to accept submissions. To assist local contractors Council is holding an information session in the Committee Room, Council Building, Level I, 30 Heber Street, Moree on Thursday, 20th June 2019. The information session will cover how to register with VendorPanel, the information which is needed to lodge a bid, and any questions that might arise.
Contractors who attend will have the option of registering on the night, with the assistance of Council staff. Staff will be available between 5pm and 7pm with a short presentation to begin the session.
Council will be opening the online bidding portal at 12 noon Monday, 24 June 2019, and will take proposals up until 12 noon, Monday 22nd July. Decisions as to whether people have been successful in their bid to join the panel will be communicated by the end of July. Unsuccessful bidders will have an opportunity to supply additional information and be reconsidered at a later stage by applying to the Director of Planning and Development through a similar process.
This information session is also of benefit to contractors who might be considering bidding for work associated with Inland Rail or other projects where online bidding is required.
Light refreshments will be provided.
