Council is inviting community comment on five proposed key elements that will help to shape a revised concept plan for Eastfield Park in Croydon.

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Kylie Spears encouraged the community to have their say on the proposed key element, which were developed following consultation with user groups, residents and the wider community.

“Over the past six months, Council has thoroughly analysed the extensive community feedback to determine common themes, ideas and opportunities for the enhancement of Eastfield Park,” Cr Spears said.

“More recently, Council has further consulted with the user groups, as well as other interested parties, including Harness Racing Victoria, Eastfield Cricket and South Croydon Junior Football Club and Friends of Eastfield Park.

“A key part of this process was to take into account current usage and look at ways in which we could enhance the open space for local and broader community use in the future,” she said.

The community is invited to comment on five proposed key elements that have been identified. These elements will be on public exhibition from Tuesday 11 June until Monday 8 July, 2019.

Feedback on the five proposed key elements will then be used to develop a revised concept plan for Eastfield Park.

“This will help to establish a clearer direction and vision for Eastfield Park, as well as identify improvement works that would take place over the short, medium and long term,” Cr Spears said.

Eastfield Park is home to a variety of sporting and recreational clubs, as well as a dedicated dog park. Eastfield Park also incorporates picnic and playground facilities, and has a significant natural bushland area.

“To ensure this plan captures the voices and vision of the local community, please take a few moments to tell us what you think.

“For those who are not frequent users of the park, or who have yet to visit, we welcome you to share your thoughts.”
