Run Maroondah is back for another year, with online registrations now open.

The city’s much-loved running event takes place on Sunday 22 September at HE Parker Reserve in Heathmont.

Hosted by Council, Run Maroondah is all about challenging yourself within a supportive environment – whether that means taking on the 15km challenge, the 10km run, 5km run/walk or the 1.2km kids dash.

Councillor Marijke Graham, for whom Run Maroondah has been a real family affair, said the event was a fun and healthy way participants can challenge themselves, and each other.

“This is a great opportunity to get the whole family involved. Having taken part in Run Maroondah with my husband and two children for the past few years has been a great experience, especially that feeling of crossing the finishing line together,” Cr Graham said.

The course will begin at HE Parker Reserve, Heathmont Road, Heathmont and continue along the Dandenong Creek Trail.

“The race will again be timed, but it doesn’t matter if you’re there to record your personal best, or to spend some quality time with your family. Whether you’re a beginner or enjoy a regular run, Run Maroondah is open to all abilities – it’s all about having fun and giving it a go,” Cr Graham said.

“Late September is also the perfect time of year to soak up the spring weather, get active and enjoy the great outdoors, so be sure to get your entries in for Run Maroondah 2019,” she said.

Online registrations for Run Maroondah 2019 close Sunday 15 September.

Entries can be made online or in person at Maroondah City Council Croydon Customer Service Centre, 7 Civic Square, Croydon (next to Croydon Library).
