Liverpool commuters will gain an extra 106 car parks this week as Liverpool City Council rolls out the first stage of its boost to CBD parking.
The 106 new eight-hour car parking spaces at Woodward Park will be available later this week, subject to weather. A shuttle bus service will transport commuters from the park to the CBD.
A further 120 car parks at Woodward Park are set to be delivered by the end of the year. Council has also approved additional car parking at 68 Speed Street in the CBD, which provides for a further 100 spaces.
“Council is keenly aware of the high demand for parking in the CBD,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said. “The March meeting approved this plan to provide more parking spaces in the CBD and we have delivered for residents in a short space of time.
“These new parking spaces are just a start on Council’s plans to provide the infrastructure and facilities needed in Sydney’s third CBD.
“Liverpool is thriving and growing every day, and Council is committed to ensuring that growth continues in a sustainable way and that residents have what they need to live and work in our wonderful city.”
The new car parking spaces will be accessible via two driveways into Memorial Avenue.
