Council has commenced construction of the Mary Valley Skate Park in Imbil with construction expected to be completed by the end of July.

The skate park is the result of consultation with local residents as well as students from the Mary Valley State College.

Councillor Bob Fredman said that this will be a great facility for the community’s young people and their families.

“I’m sure that many families throughout all parts of the Mary Valley will enjoy this facility for many years to come,” said Cr Fredman.

The $300,000 project is being funded by the Queensland Government as part of its Works for Queensland funding program, with Council contributing funds for landscaping once the skate facility’s construction is complete.
