How do you outwit a Twit?
Find out this July, as the talented Spare Parts Puppet Theatre brings a new adaption of Roald Dahl’s The Twits in its purest form – unsentimental, grotesque and a lot of fun – on show at Karralyka.
A comedy of rebellion and justice, Roald Dahl’s beloved tale comes to life on stage in this high-energy combination of storytelling, puppetry and physical theatre that will Dahl-ight ages 5+ and their families.
Mr Twit has a very hairy face. His beard is spiky and smelly. Mrs Twit is equally as foul and she dislikes Mr Twit just has Mr Twit dislikes her. The Twits really are the most spiteful and revolting couple you could ever hope to meet.
They spend their days playing wicked tricks on each other and mistreating Muggle-Wump monkeys. They also have a particularly sticky trick to catch Roly-Poly birds for their bird pies.
But not for much longer because the monkeys have a cunning plan to teach those terrible twits a lesson.
Catch all the drama, playfulness and tricks of The Twits at Karralyka these July school holidays.
Good Thoughts ProjectThe Spare Parts Puppet Theatre are collecting 100,000 thoughts to promote positive thinking and healthy minds as it brings its national tour of Roald Dah’s The Twits to Karralyka this July.
Help the puppet theatre collect good thoughts by sharing yours. We would love to collect as many good thoughts from the community as possible. These good thoughts can be about your friends, family, school, communities, workplace or even yourself – anything that promotes positive thinking!
Simply write down your good thought by downloading a Good Thought template below and sharing your message in the ‘thought bubble’ provided. Once completed, bring it down to Karralyka before the show where it will be displayed on the tree board in the theatre foyer.
But don’t fret! If you forget to bring your Good Thought note or want to wait until you arrive for the show, Karralyka will have a supply of pens and coloured post-it notes for audience members to write down their ‘good thoughts’ to be added to the tree.
There will also be a Twits photobooth where you can be snapped in a photo! The main characters from the show will be part of the design of the frames, so audience members can be photographed with Muggle-Wump and Roly-Poly Bird, or become your own version of Mr and Mrs Twit!
