The Ararat Wind Farm Sustainable Community Grants program will open for applications next Monday.
Ararat CEO Dr Tim Harrison said the program, administered by Ararat Rural City Council, provides $5000 grants for smaller projects and $10,000 grants for larger projects with matching funding, with the total funds available this year $65,000.
The program, which opens for applications on July 1 and closes on July 31, is open to community organisations within Ararat Rural City, Northern Grampians Shire and Pyrenees Shire.
“This is a great opportunity for local groups and organisations to obtain funds for much-needed projects,” he said.
Ararat Wind Farm Operations Manager Dean Tonkin said the fund provides financial support to promote community, social and environmental sustainability initiatives and is part of the wind farm’s community investment program.
“The total funds available for the Ararat Wind Farm Sustainable Grants Program 2019 is $65,000 shared across three municipalities of Ararat Rural City, Northern Grampians Shire and Pyrenees Shire Councils,” Mr Tonkin said.
Applications are open from Monday 1 July 2019 and will close at 5pm on Wednesday 31 July 2019. Late applications will not be considered. Successful applicants will be announced in late August.
