Citrus Gall Wasp is a pest of citrus trees in commercial orchards and home gardens that arrived in WA in 2013 and is spreading rapidly.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is keen to keep this pest out of commercial orchards in our region. Its control will be costly and may increase the number of chemicals growers need to use in their orchards.
The wasp spreads when people move infested treed from one region to another. Cases have been reported in the Perth Metropolitan region.
Please keep a close eye on any recently purchased or relocated trees and act quickly if galls appear.
You can use the My Pest Guide Reporter app to report any citrus gall wasps. These reports help keep track of the wasps’ spread.
You can visit the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development website for more information on the Citrus Gall Wasp.
