Former Innisfail local Katisha Adelaide is returning to her home town to perform a lunchtime concert in the Innisfail Shire Hall next Thursday (July 4) at noon.

Event coordinator Kim Agli said entry was by gold coin donation and all money collected would go to the artist, who is currently finishing a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium in Brisbane.

Katisha Adelaide is a violinist, looping artist, singer and multi-instrumentalist who thrives on the non-traditional and has performed around the world. She has appeared at the Royal Queensland Show and has also performed in rural Ugandan prisons, cafes in Bangkok and Kenya and gigs at Manila’s iconic Quezon Memorial Circle.

Through partnering with community organisations, including the Stairwell Project and Anew Conferences, Katisha has shared her music with people in schools, retirement villages, hospitals, churches and private homes across Australia and is passionate about bringing music into rural and regional areas of the county.

Her Innisfail show will include a symphonic-inspired program of originals and cover songs.

“I strive to play music of many different genres and types and have successfully performed for audiences of all ages, from kindy to retirement home,” she said.
