The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Council is excited to announce the appointment of Paul Martin as the incoming Chief Executive Officer.
The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Council is excited to announce the appointment of Paul Martin as the incoming Chief Executive Officer following the departure of Mr Kenn Donohoe.
The current CEO of the Shire of York, Mr Martin is highly experienced in Local Government having previously held the CEO position with the Town of Port Hedland and deputy CEO position with the Shire of Broome.
Following an extensive recruitment process, Mr Martin was appointed by Council at a Special Council Meeting held on Thursday, 27 June 2019.
Council embargoed the announcement until 9am, Monday 1 July to allow Mr Martin to inform his current employer and employees of his impending departure.
Shire President Cr Michelle Rich said Mr Martin joined the organisation at an important time for the Shire.
“Paul has an impressive list of achievements across a long career in Local Government and I am pleased that he has accepted the role with the Shire,” Cr Rich said.
“With the Shire experiencing significant growth and key infrastructure projects on the horizon, we can’t wait to work with him to ensure of Shire continues to go from strength to strength in this exciting period.”
Mr Martin has been employed on a five-year contract and will commence with the Shire on Monday, September 23.
In the interim, Deputy CEO /Director Community Services Helen Sarcich is the Shire’s acting Chief Executive Officer with outgoing CEO, Mr Donohoe, on annual leave until his last day with the Shire on Wednesday, 10 July.
