Two Lithgow residents have become Australia’s newest citizens as part of a Naturalisation Ceremony in Lithgow.

The Council recently held a Naturalisation Ceremony and welcomed two new Australians to our area.

“On Thursday 27th June 2019, two new Australians pledged their loyalty to our Country and have taken an exciting step in showing their commitment and loyalty to this nation and the desire to share a common future”, said Mayor Ray Thompson.

“It was a real privilege to welcome these people as Australian”.

“Our citizenship is something we should all actively celebrate on Australia Day or any day of the year, whether we are Australian by birth or by choice,” Cr Thompson said.

“On behalf of the Lithgow community I welcome its newest citizens and

wish them well as they take this important and final step to officially join the Australian family,” concluded Mayor Thompson.
