Last Wednesday evening, I was honoured to attend the Rotary Club of Cooma changeover dinner on behalf of Snowy Monaro Regional Council. It was my pleasure to thank outgoing President John King for all his hard work as Club President. Rotary holds a special place within this community and John’s hard work and commitment to improving our community and furthering the Rotary cause is very much appreciated.
I wish incoming President Ash Constance all the very best. Ash is a dedicated Rotarian. His worth ethic and community focus will hold him in good stead.
Council adopted its 2019/20 Fees and Charges, along with the Operational Pan, at our last Council meeting on Thursday 20 June. The new schedule of Fees and Charges took effect from Monday 1 July and can be viewed on Council’s website or at any office location throughout the region.
With the winter school holidays kicking off this weekend, entertaining our region’s young people can be a challenge during the colder months. Our libraries in Bombala and Cooma, along with our Youth Development Officers, have put together a range of activities to delight and engage, catering to a broad range of ages and interests through the school holiday period.
All the events and activities are free however, due to limited places, bookings are essential for some of the activities. You can find all the details on Council’s website, at any of our offices, or via Snowy Monaro Regional Library, Snowy Monaro Regional Youth Council and Snowy Monaro Regional Council Facebook pages.
Are you part of a community organisation in the former Cooma-Monaro and Bombala Local Government Areas? Don’t miss out on your opportunity to apply for grant funding under the Boco Rock Community Enhancement Fund!
The Boco Rock Community Enhancement Fund Committee was established following development approval being granted through the NSW Government's Department of Planning. Expenditure by the Committee is specifically restricted to the former Cooma-Monaro and Bombala Local Government Areas as a condition of the development approval.
This is an exciting opportunity for community groups in these areas to apply for funding.
Application packs and funding guidelines are available on Council’s website or at any Council office.
Applications close 5pm Friday 26 July. Don’t miss out.
