The Acoustic Guitar Spectacular will appear on stage on Friday 26 July 2019, 7pm at the Wolvi and District War Memorial Hall, 1358 Kin Kin Road, Wolvi.
The highly anticipated annual event brings together a hand-picked group of internationally recognised acoustic guitarists from across the globe. This very special concert is hosted by internationally acclaimed guitarist Michael Fix, who will be joined by Italian YouTube sensation Luca Stricagnoli and roots and rock multi-instrumentalist Minnie Marks.
Guitarist Michael Fix said this is a rare opportunity to see such a wealth of amazing musical talent on one stage, especially Luca Stricagnoli, who is performing in Australia for the first time. “Luca is totally unique. I've never seen or heard anyone quite like him. He can play multiple guitars at once, he has attachments on his guitar which enable him to create the sound of a drum kit whilst playing melody, and bass,” he said.
Michael said the concert will feature each performer as a solo act as well as an ensemble, allowing plenty of opportunities for spontaneity and improvisation.
“The audience will meet three very different performers, with totally different approaches to guitar. Each of us are solo performers, and use the guitar to create the whole sound, which includes melody, rhythm, bass, and percussion elements, but we approach it in different ways,” he said. Tickets cost $25 for adults and $20 for concessions, with kids 13 and under free, and can be purchased at www.qtix.com.au/gcc/event/gcc_acoustic_guitar_19.aspx
