Snowy Monaro Regional Council has engaged Interflow to conduct smoke testing of the sewer network throughout the township of Bombala.

The smoke testing involves blowing a non-toxic smoke into the sewer and identifying the points where the smoke escapes as potential sources of stormwater infiltration. These sources may be, for example, house roofs and downpipes or street stormwater drainage.

Stormwater that enters our sewer network during wet periods causes a significant increase in operational costs and limits our ability to treat sewage effectively.

Residents can expect to receive notification and further information via letterbox drop at their properties as the works progress. The works themselves should not have any impact on access to the sewer by residents at any time.

Enquires may be directed to Council’s Capital Works Engineer – Water and Wastewater, John Booker on 1300 345 345.
