Have your Say – My Community Project voting opening soon

Moree Plains Shire Council is encouraging all community members to “Have Your Say” and register for their My Service NSW account in preparation for the voting period for the My Community Project grants program opening Monday, 15 July 2019.

Moree Plains Shire Council’s Acting Manager of Economic Development and Grants, Mrs Susannah Pearse said Council and a number of other community groups have made submissions to the program and success is dependent on a community vote.

“The NSW Government’s My Community Project grants program was released for the first time in 2019. The Moree Plains Shire has been fortunate that a number of community groups have actively collaborated with Council to make submissions under the fund. The final list of eligible projects will be released when voting opens 15 July.

“The projects for our shire are competing against all submissions for the Northern Tablelands electorate so it’s really important that the community gets on board to vote for their preferred projects,” said Mrs Pearse.

The projects submitted by Council include:

• Boggabilla Sports Ground Amenities valued at $186,264 • Boomi Community Projects valued at $58,515 • Moree Memorial Hall Retractable Seating valued at $199,714 • Mungindi Tennis Court Revitalisation valued at $99,872 • Pallamallawa “Nanna Brazel” Park Inclusive Upgrades including children’s bike track and static exercise equipment valued at $48,000 • Weemelah Public Toilets Inclusive Upgrades valued at $50,715.

Stay tuned for the NSW Government’s announcement of the complete list of projects from the Moree Plains Shire, set to be announced Monday, 15 July 2019.

Community members wanting to support and vote for their favourite projects within the Northern Tablelands electorate need to ensure they have registered for a “My Service NSW” account.
