Have your say about Emerald memorial flood marker

Posted on July 10, 2019

Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking community feedback on the design of memorial flood marker in the Emerald Botanic Gardens.

The marker will be built into a seating area made from reclaimed or recycled timber to give people a perspective of the height of the three major floods from 1956, 2008 and 2010, whilst serving as a tourist attraction.

Technology will allow visitors to access information about the floods and flood mitigation in the area via their smart phone.

The proposed designs are open for feedback on council’s online engagement platform Have Your Say until 2 August 2019. Alternative formats are available on request via 1300 242 686 or at council’s customer service centres.
