The annual Delicious & Delightful Festival is returning to Dalby for its tenth year this August and is expected to be bigger and better than ever.
The colourful festival attracts people from far and wide to embrace and celebrate the region’s diverse community between Friday 16 and Saturday 17 August.
It will once again be located in the heart of Dalby, along the banks of the beautiful Myall Creek that stretches throughout the entire town and the wider region.
It will feature a wide variety of multicultural food and entertainment as well as activities for everyone to enjoy.
On the Friday night, well known country music artist Tania Kernaghan and supporting acts Chloe Styler, Ben Ransom and Kora Naughton will be treating the community to a live concert to launch the festival, with food and beverages available.
The main series of events will take place on the Saturday with activities such as the Colour Run, Volleyball Competition and a Multicultural Fashion Parade taking place during the day.
When the sun goes down, the festival will truly come to life with the famous Lantern Parade and Fire Show which is perfect to view while feasting on some of the delicious cuisines on offer.
This year’s theme for the Lantern Parade is ‘Around the World’ which sets the scene for the lantern creations, which will be on display for everyone to admire.
Western Downs Regional Council Spokesperson for Economic Development Councillor Donna Ashurst is ready to celebrate the region’s multiculturalism once again at the annual Dalby event.
“Every year this event grows a little bigger and better than the previous and it is always a huge success,” she said.
“The Western Downs is such a diverse region with residents hailing from all over the world and I am proud to live in an area so accepting of other cultures, it is one of the many great things about the region.
“Council will also be hosting the third Australian Citizenship Ceremony of the year at the festival, which is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our newest residents.” Delicious and Delightful will take place on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 August at Anderson Park, Dalby.
