Temporary Closure Groper Creek Jetty

Posted on 9th Jul 2019

Monday 15 July 2019 – Temporary closure – Day works

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises that the Groper Creek jetty south-east of Home Hill, will be temporarily closed to undertake a structural inspection of the jetty.

The Groper Creek jetty inspection work is schedule to be carried out on Monday 15 July 2019, weather and tides permitting.

The work involves:

– A visual inspection of the jetty

– Concrete coring and taking of samples

The contractor will need to restrict access to the jetty to ensure the safety of their workers and members of the public. Access to the nearby boat ramps will be maintained.

Every effort will be made to minimise noise, however nearby home owners and users of the boat ramp can expect noise due to the concrete sawing works and reversing vehicle warning signals. Workplace Health and Safety management procedures stipulate that reversing warning signals on vehicles cannot be turned off, even in residential areas.
