Fairfield City Council has provided life-saving defibrillators to more sports clubs in Fairfield City, in partnership with the NSW Office of Sport Local Sport Defibrillator program.
Sports clubs yet to have a defibrillator provided are invited to register their interest in the program by calling Council on 9725 0311.
“I’m proud that Council continues to roll out this program that could save lives in an emergency,” Mayor Carbone said.
“This practical campaign offers sports clubs in Fairfield City the opportunity to obtain a defibrillator, which will make our sports clubs safer for players, volunteers and officials,” Mayor Carbone said.
“I encourage clubs to make an application so that you have potentially life-saving equipment on hand for players and spectators at your events in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.”
Council has also installed defibrillators in many of its community facilities.
The latest round provides defibrillators to be installed in amenity buildings in Adams Park, Canley Vale (Canley Vale Junior Rugby league Club); Avery Park, Fairfield West (South West Sharks and Fairfield Tag League); Brenan Park, Smithfield (Southern District and Fairfield Patrician Brothers Football Club); and, New Era Stadium, Cabramatta (Cabramatta Rugby League).
Since the launch of the program three years ago 33 defibrillators have been installed across the City.
