Rural producers are being asked to share their expertise on a new advisory committee that will have a key role in helping Eurobodalla Council support local agriculture and promote rural tourism.
The Rural Producers Advisory Committee will advise Council on the most effective ways to implement recommendations of the recently adopted Rural Lands Strategy, and expressions of interest are now open for six community representative positions.
Members will provide advice on rural land use and economic issues referred to the committee by Council, as well as raise issues of relevance to local rural producers.
To be eligible for selection, individuals must be commercially active in primary production, rural industry or rural tourism in the Eurobodalla.
Meetings will be held quarterly and community members will work on the committee with a representative of the Department of Primary Industries, along with Council's General Manager, the Director of Planning and Sustainability, and the Mayor who will chair the group.
Expressions of interest must be received by 4.30pm on 29 June 2016.
