Eurobodalla Council is replacing the concrete beach stairs at Candlagan Creek, starting next week.
The new stairs will be wider at 1.5 metres and have a handrail down both sides, making access to the beach and the creek safer and easier. The stairs are located just south of the bridge on the eastern side of the road.
Council’s contractor will start work on Monday, 23 May and the stairs will be closed for three weeks. Beachgoers can still get to the beach at the main access opposite Iluka Street, further south of the bridge.
Pedestrians are asked to take care around the construction site and take notice of signage.
The new stairs are being built as part of the Candlagan Creek bridge reconstruction, due to open to traffic next month.
