Eurobodalla Council will include a set of concrete stairs in the work to shore up access to a popular swimming spot on Mummaga Lake at Dalmeny.

The sandy entrance to the swimming hole opposite Tatiara Avenue has eroded badly, and Council allocated $40,000 to install a rockwall this year to protect the area.

The decision to include stairs in the design comes after talks with regular users of the area who are keen for locals and visitors to retain easy access to the spot.

Council says work will commence in the coming months when all appropriate approvals have been confirmed with NSW Fisheries and the Marine Parks Authority.
