Thousands of young people aged 12 to 25 get involved in National Youth Week every year. This year’s theme is ‘It starts with us’ and Eurobodalla Council is once again hosting a range of free events just for young people.
The celebrations start this Saturday with a pool party at Narooma Pool and the first Tri-Series skate event, also at Narooma. Bring your skateboard, scooter or BMX to the skate park and compete or just watch the demonstrations. The Tri-Series continues on Sunday at Moruya.
At Eurobodalla’s libraries, young people aged 12 to 18 can learn how to create their own comic book character while the younger kids can enjoy a magic show with the Amazing Zamboni or take a storytelling adventure with ‘Gran’ and her big red bag. Each event is hosted at Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma libraries.
Get outdoors and hands on with local sea creatures at What’s Under the Wharf, on Monday 11 April, 12.30pm at Narooma Town Wharf.
The Underground digital photo competition promises to be a highlight and concludes with a showcase of the finalists’ work in the underground carpark at Council’s Moruya offices next Friday night and Saturday morning. It’s easy to enter. Just text or email Council your favourite Eurobodalla photo or 15-second video from your phone to win an iPhone 6 or $100 cash.
