Eurobodalla’s sporting club volunteers now have access to free online training to help their build their skills in committee management, fundraising, and promotions.
The training takes the form of one-hour videos that can be watched any time from any computer, making access easy for the region’s busy volunteers.
Eurobodalla Council has purchased the online training library from Sports Community NSW and all local sporting club volunteers are being invited to use it.
There are 23 training sessions already available in the library with themes that include empowering committees, fundraising for clubs, using social media, and communicating with supporters.
Council’s Director of Community, Arts and Recreation Kathy Arthur says the library will continue to grow and encouraged local sporting club volunteers to register for their login and password.
“We understand that people have busy lives and on top of family, work and other commitments, it’s sometimes hard to fit in the extra training they might want to help their volunteering efforts.
“Our local sporting clubs rely on the ongoing support of volunteers and this online resource allows them to access quality training without leaving home. It will be beneficial for both long term volunteers and those new to the sports committee scene,” Ms Arthur said.
“Our local sporting clubs and their volunteers provide fantastic sporting and recreation opportunities to our community, and Council wants to help them do the best job they can.”
Sporting club volunteers can register for the online training and find out about other support on offer by contacting Council’s Coordinator of Recreation Development Ann Nicholson on 02 4474 7438 or email [email protected]
